In Korea the New year has always been a very important holiday (Eastern New year, of course, according to the lunar calendar). It sought all day to spend at home, in the family circle. In the past years around the holidays, even petty criminals were released from prison to go home under parole. In the New year, it is rare to meet travelers, but if someone had to celebrate a holiday on the road, the innkeeper, traditionally did not take money from the traveler for meals and overnight. I can’t guarantee that if you arrive in Korea for the New year – i.e. on 12th Feb, — you will be provided with free billeting. But in any case you will not regret it.
What to do, say, in Seoul for the New year? Ideally a quick meet with some local citizen and to get invited (still homemade holiday when it is customary to pay visits). If not – go to the restaurant, so at least there’s plenty of naprobovatsya Korean new year treats. On the street you can buy roasted acorns “amp”, sticky caramel “ut”, beans “tan-UNSC” and other traditional sweets. Be sure to visit one of the many bars in Seoul-karaoke. Stranger you feel there will not be: I love the Koreans of the Soviet Estrada. 1. Gujarat, India
Country’s largest producer of cotton and salt, Gujarat is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. In 2005 and 2006 heavy monsoons caused severe flooding, which killed more than 1,000 people, severely damaged infrastructure and agriculture. According to the expectations of scientists, a rapidly changing climate will lead to increasingly unpredictable monsoon rains and floods.

The Maldives consists of 1200 tropical Islands, with white beaches, swaying palm trees and brightly colored coral reefs. The Republic of Maldives stretches across more than 600 miles. According to reports by the UN, by 2100 the sea level will rise 59 centimeters. In this case, the chain of 1,200 Islands and coral atolls 800 miles from the tip of India will be partly flooded, because a large part of the Maldives lies just one and a half metres above sea level (the highest point in the state – 2.4 meters above sea level). Even minor sea level rise could lead to the fact that some of the Islands will die.

Bangkok – tropical capital, where the traditional East meets the modernity of the West. This city constantly tolerate flooding, especially during Continue reading
Typical traditional Korean architecture were two main styles: a Palace-temple which has been formed under the strong influence of Chinese canons, and folk — the building of houses for ordinary people, who had many local varieties. Ancient architects who built palaces and temples, borrowed a system of beams and supports the Chinese. For residential buildings of ordinary people were characterized by thatched roofs and under floor heating system, ondol. Rich people built large houses with elegantly curved tiled roofs ended at the end slightly raised eaves. Great value in architecture was given to the natural landscape. So, many Buddhist monasteries scattered throughout the country, usually built in the mountains, perfectly blending into the surrounding landscape. A place for building only then was considered appropriate, when opened from there the corresponding view of the “mountains and water”.
